80-20 Products (DMS Extensions for Exchange, Personal Knowledge Portal)
The Document Management Extensions document management system stores metadata with the document, by storing Documents as attachments to Microsoft Exchange messages, which in turn contain the metadata. All of this is stored in the Exchange repository (a database). Using the Fulcrum Knowledge Network, Document Management Extensions has a fully indexed repository-only model whilst retaining the database-only model using a Microsoft Exchange database.
Some Release Notes: The Document Management Extensions client can connect to multiple servers across Exchange sites to retrieve documents without the requirement to enable Public Folder Affinity or replication.
Searching multiple repositories without replicating index information is available in this release.

grapeVINE (KM Tool)
An administrator first tells grapeVINE where to look for useful information and knowledge . grapeVINE then monitors those places (web sites, file servers, Lotus Notes databases) and checks all new information. Using an organization specific taxonomy or category tree, grapeVINE classifies new documents against those categories. Each user creates an "interest profile," which is simply a list of topics (from the category tree or created by you) you, the user, needs to have in order to do your job well. Once grapeVINE finds some information that matches your interest profile, it will alert you in your e-mail in-box. After reading the information, you can then attach a ranking to the document from "Useless" to "Must read!" and pass it on to others. You can also add your own thoughts and opinions to the document, thus making the original piece of information that much more valuable and insightful. You can also search and browse for information through the category tree on an ad hoc basis whenever you need to find an answer fast.
